I was never really a Twitter guy. However, after deciding that Facebook was becoming more taxing and annoying than anything else, I turned to Twitter. I originally turned to Twitter a few years back to aggregate news and follow my favorite sports teams. This time I decided to connect with LIS professionals and its been a MUCH better experience. You can regularly find tweets and discussions related to all things LIS. Also, there are regular discussion hashtags, such as #libchat, that provide a forum for constructive and helpful insights into the field. Utilizing Twitter in this manner allows for filtering out a lot of the noise and fluff on Twitter and turning it into a professional resources and forum.
